"Deep garnet with good depth of colour. A pretty, fruit forward, bouquet showing complex aromas of blackberry, plum, cassis, liquorice, candied peel and spice and well integrated, classy oak. The wine is broad and mouthfilling with supple texture and weight and flavours of spiced plums, black cherry, and cassis on the palate with fine ripe tannin rounding off an elegant finish. " |

"Crimson edged with good depth of colour. A pretty boquet showing complex aromas of plums, cherry and and cassis on a palate with a supple texture and fine tannin, with a clean and pure finish. The wine was matured in one year old, all French barriques." |

The 2006 (*****five stars) is densley coloured, with supercharged flavours of plums, spices and blackcurrants. It's a robust wine with slightly chewy tannins underlying dense, ripe flavours, nutty and complex. |

"Purple-crimson edged with a great depth of colour. The rich bouquet shows aromas of cassis, plums, licorice and spices. Flavours similar to the aromas flood the palate which is supple in texture despite the ample fine tannin. The wine finishes long clean and complex, tastes great now and has excellant potential for the cellar. |

The brilliant 2005 vintage (*****five stars) is bold and purple flushed; the bouquet fragrant, plummy and spicy; the palate is silky textured yet highly concentrated, with blackcurrant, plum and spice flavours, already delicious. Weighty and complex, it's an outstanding wine for drinking now or cellaring. |

“Rich and complex nose, characteristically Syrah fragrance of blackberry and black pepper overlayed with liquorice, orange essence, garden herbs, and a slight medicinal note.
A mouth-filling wine with a creamy texture, showing flavours of plum, black cherry with medicinal, liquorice, and earthy complexities.” |

“The outstanding 2004 vintage (*****five stars) is a Waiheke Island, Rhone-style blend of Syrah, Grenache and Mourvedre, matured in 50/50 split of French and American oak barriques (half new).
The colour is new and purple flushed; the bouquet is fresh and perfumed; the palate is powerful, plumy and spicy, dense and concentrated, with firm but not grippy tannins." |

“A bright crimson hue with excellent depth. It offers a complex nose with hints of violets, liquorice, earth, and mineral mixed amongst fruit notes of blueberry and blackberry, with some sweet oak notes and a distant drumbeat of pepper.
Rich fruit builds in intensity through the palate, evolving to a complex finish with subtle oak notes. It's all held together with fine tannins and a balanced acid backbone guiding the wine through to a long finish.”
